Werkstatt:München is synonym of artisanal beauty and industrial romanticism founded in 1996 by Klaus Lohmeyer.
With a background in philosophy, politics and music, Klaus Lohmeyer turned to craftwork driven by his passion for raw materials such as silver and vegetable tanned leather. After having studied silversmith and goldsmith at the prestigious Staatliche Berufsfachschule für Glas und Schmuck of Kaufbeuren and becoming a master craftsman, he set up Werkstatt:München.
The brand specialises in the manual production of silver, gold and leather jewelry. In the entire history of its existence, Werkstatt: München have been collaborating only with brands that are similar in spirit to Werkstatt: München itself, including, for instance, Ann Demeulemeester and Boris Bidjan Saberi. The brand can be found only in selected boutiques in the world.
Within an old foundry’s suggestive atmosphere, a skilled team works with passion and precision to create pieces that have a „soul“, as emotions are the ultimate luxury in a fully digitalized and machine-made world. Werkstatt:München re-establishes the timeless value of precious as things to be inherited, passing on stories and traditions from generation to generation.
